The area we want to share
with you is known as 'Valle Bajos del Toro
Amarillo'. This small valley is hiding
behind the Poás Volcán. The presence of
this impressive active volcano is always
there.
Altitude is
between 1.600 meters in the south and
1.100 in the north, over a length of
maximum 10 km. The surrounding mountains
are covered with primary and secundary
forest and open fields. On the east side
you will find 'Parc Nacional Poás Volcán' and
in the
west is located, the unexplored, unknown but very
important, 'Parc Nacional Juan Castro
Blanco'.
Amount of inhabitants maximum 300
(!). The weather is a healthy and cool
year round.
Security level is high.
Entering the valley from the south, which
is19 km. north of Sarchi, you will find on
the right side the 5 star hotel
El Silencio and on the left side hotel
Bosque de Paz. After the little village
Bajos del Toro Amarillo the valley
continues for another 8 km north where it
ends after Quebrada Gata 2km north of our Catarata Del Toro.
Driving time from San José 120 minutes,
airport Alajuela 90 minutes, Grecia 60
minutes, Sarchi 45 minutes, Puerto Viejo
de Saripiqui 70 minutes, San Carlos 60
minutes
and La Fortuna (Arenal) 75 minutes.
This Valley is completely unspoiled and
ready to be discovered by people who care
about and love nature.
Why this valley
is still so pure? We do not
know, but we enjoy every day living
there.
